lora brody

Lora Brody is an award-winning Boston and Provincetown-based photographer who uses a NikonSLR camera fitted with a pinhole cap to capture images of bodies moving through water. Other significant bodies of work include unique moments at both Provincetown's Herring Cove beach and The Boston Red Sox's Fenway Park. Her images are printed on premium quality archival paper with archival ink.

Ms Brody has studied with Magnum photographers Constantine Manos and Alex Webb as well as with Amy Arbus, Karin Rosenthal, and Becky Webb. Her photos have appeared on the cover and in feature articles in The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, and in The Cape Cod Times. Her baseball photographs hang in the corporate offices of The Boston Red Sox. She was the official photographer at the 2007 Red Sox Fantasy Camp in Fort Myers, Florida.

Cape Cod Magazine, Woman's Day and Cooking Light have featured both her writing and her food and travel photos. As a photographic food stylist she has worked with, among others, National Geographic photographer Sisse Brimberg on a Geographic cover story about chocolate.

What’s your food fantasy? An avalanche of ice cream? A big bag of crispy fries? A foot long, over-stuffed submarine sandwich? All these things make me happy – and not just when they appear on my table. They are just as satisfying when viewed through the lens of my camera and ultimately on my computer, where I “paint” them, digitally speaking, manipulating them into larger-than-life, super scrumptious works of food art – a feast for the eyes. No calories are consumed while ‘just looking,’ and the bogus nutritional labels are a comment on our need to temper pleasure with cold hard numbers.

Archival ink jet prints are available, both with and without nutritional information panels in sizes: 11” x 17”, 13” x 19”, 20” x 24” and 24” x 30”.
